Woman pays full amount for 85-year-old’s groceries

"She just paid and left, and it's a pity I don't know her name, but I hope she sees this and I'd like to thank her."

Helen (85) of Joburg South would like to express her gratitude to a woman who paid her entire grocery bill at The Glen Shopping Centre’s Woolworths store on November 2.

Helen said she was short of a small amount of money to pay for her groceries, but when she approached the till to pay for her food, a lady came by and assisted her in paying the full amount.

“I was shocked, I couldn’t believe it because I thought she was only going to pay me a small amount. I am both surprised and delighted.

“She just paid and left, and it’s a pity I don’t know her name, but I hope she sees this and I’d like to thank her and I hope she gets blessed. People like her are rare,” Helen said.
