Alberton anglers bring home big catch

The Alberton Angling Club held their last competition for the 2022/2023 season between September 1 and 3 at Aqua Via, Vaal River.

Congratulations are in order for anglers belonging to the Alberton Angling Club after finishing well in their last competition, held at Aqua Via.

André Theron bagged a new club record with an impressive 1.445kg (small mouth yellow). In mini juniors, Tyla Arbuckle came first with 10 points. In the juniors category, Juan Theron came in first place with 117 points, Nina Eksteen was in second place with 70 points and Heinrick Boshoff came third with 11 points.

In the seniors category, Coenie Nel was in first place with a whopping 258 points, followed by Gerhard Coertze for second place with 159 points and in third place was Chris de Wet with 122 points.

For masters, Mark Oosthuizen secured 143 points and came in first place, followed by Frikkie Boshoff, who attained second place with 14 points.

The club’s management has since applauded all anglers for their impressive catch.

Their next competition for the new season will be held at Last Farm, on October 6 to 8.
