Sensei Llewellyn’s team shines at competition

Classes primarily focus on self-defense techniques and physical conditioning.

Five years ago, sensei Llewellyn Oosthuizen opened a club emphasising fitness and self-defence through karate for adults.

It is located at the Dutch Reformed Church Hall in Verwoerdpark.

Recently, sensei Laurent Gaston Bellegorde extended an invitation to participation in the Cobras All Styles Team Events Only Competition.

Despite being over 53, three karatekas, Caroline Thomas, Jacques Albasini, and Patrick Damon, entered the Unison Kata event, securing fourth place after a close match for third.

Oosthuizen expressed immense pride in their performance, highlighting their resilience against younger competitors. On another note, Markus van den Heever recently attained his orange belt, marking a significant achievement within the club.

Karate sessions take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Verwoerdpark Dutch Reformed Church, welcoming individuals of all ages.

For further information, interested parties can reach out to Oosthuizen at 082 464 4912 or sensei Jacques Albasini at 083 271 4592.
