Alberton North-based Valhalla is the best MMA and fitness academy

Valhalla’s Coenie Lamprecht was the men’s top grappler and overall top grappler.

Alberton North-based Valhalla MMA and Fitness Academy had an incredible start in 2025.

The academy’s students won in submission grappling and mixed martial arts tournaments.

Valhalla MMA and Fitness and its students received these tournament wins and top performances:

Versus Grappling (January 11 – 25)

First: Best academy.

Second: Best overall team.

Grappling Industries Johannesburg (March 8)

Third: Best overall team (adults).

First: Best overall team (youth).

Versus Grappling (March 12 – 15)

Second: Best academy.

Third place: Best overall team.

Youth MMA Championships (March 3 – 22)

First: Best youth national team.

Submission Kings (March 17, 29 and 30)

First: Top academy Saturday.

First: Top academy Sunday.

First: Best overall team.

Men’s top grappler – Coenie Lamprecht.

Overall top grappler – Coenie Lamprecht.

Top youth grapplers:

First: Josef Moosa.

Fourth: Miriam Moosa.

Ninth: Teagan Snyman.

Fastest submission in eight seconds: Nathan Nanfack.
