Don’t post charity selfies
Why: It’s not about you!
Don’t be a one- day- stand
Why: If you’re considering volunteering for a charity organisation, think it through. Do something that interests you or that you could be passionate about. Consider following up as this will have more value in the long run.
Don’t wear inappropriate clothing
Why: It just doesn’t make sense to wear your designer jacket or heels when going to volunteer. Wearing clothes that won’t allow you to get down and dirty will hold you back.
Don’t judge a book by its cover
Why : You should research the organisation you have offered your time to. Many people assume that they know what different charities need instead of asking the organisation directly.
Don’t be a know it all
Why: Having done a day of charity work doesn’t make you a social worker.
