Alex man nabbed with drugs

BRAMLEY - Police have arrested an Alexandra man in possession of drugs.

According to police reports, one of their units was conducting a stop-and-search operation at the corner of Corlertt Drive and Homestead Road when they stopped a car with one occupant.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the police searched the suspect and the car. “We found drugs hidden in the cabin hole of his car.”

The suspect was arrested immediately on charges of being in possession of and dealing with drugs. Maphakela said the drugs had a street value of R7 000.

He said the police were still investigating as to where the suspects was taking the drugs to. The 37-year-old suspect was expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
