Ladies United players invited to national team camp

Two players of football club, Ladies United were thrilled to be invited by the women’s national team, Banyana Banyana to be part of a select group for the U20 team.

Thandeka Zulu and Zingawa Phakathi, both 18 years old attended a selection camp where their skills were put to the test. Ladies United coach, Malvin Khumalo said he was confident that the girls would make the team because of their skill.

He said, “I believe that Zingawa will definitely make it since she is already in the senior squad of the national team.”

Phakathi has been playing for the national team since June. She said the camp was an exciting experience and was also confident that she would be selected. “I am part of the senior squad so I think they want to move me to a squad of my age,” she said.

Zulu said she had a good time at the camp and learnt a lot. She said, “It was a great opportunity for me and just being invited means a lot to me.”
