ALEXANDRA - An Eastbank man was shot at a tavern in Eastbank on 27 September and died before he could receive medical attention.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the incident happened at Milly’s Tavern, Eastbank, in the evening.

The victim was shot in the chest and rushed to the Alexandra Clinic by a relative where he was certified dead on arrival. Maphakela said a suspect was arrested at the tavern in connection with the shooting, but did not state if any gun[s] and ammunition were recovered or when the suspect will appear in court.
