Youth council helps 20 get pizza jobs
ALEXANDRA - Twenty Alex youths were lucky beneficiaries of the Youth Advisory Council’s data base.

Twenty Alex youths are set to start work at fast food chain, Domino’s Pizza.
This after the Youth Advisory Council was approached by NPO Khulisa Social Solutions to identify youths for employment. The lucky youths’ names were on the council’s database after its appeal to unemployed youth to register with them.
The youth will be placed at two of the company’s outlets in Greenstone and Blairgowrie. Simphiwe Mahlangu of Khulisa said they had chosen Alex youth because of the township’s proximity to the outlets.
She said the chosen candidates would be interviewed first, and then would attend a five-day life skills programme covering basic financial training, work ethics, public speaking and facilitating the public.
One of the recruits, Lindokuhle Jiyane thanked her lucky stars for the opportunity after being out of school for a year without a source of income. “I feel great especially as it’s the beginning of the year and hope others will also be lucky elsewhere so that unemployment can be reduced,” she said.
Mush Raletjena of the council urged youths to register with them to enhance their chance of getting jobs.
