Men in custody for attempted murder and robbery

ALEXANDRA - Four men have been remanded into custody by the Alex Magistrates' Court for further investigations for attempted murder and armed robbery.

This after they allegedly shot and seriously injured a man at his friend’s house where it is claimed they also robbed the house owner and another visiting friend of money.

The court heard that the four were let into the house by the owner on 14th Avenue one evening after knocking at the door. It is alleged the four, who were known by the visiting friend, announced that it was a robbery and one of them pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the face causing him to fall.

It is claimed they then robbed the owner of R250 and the visiting friend of R400. Before leaving, it is alleged they again shot the injured man in the back saying they wanted to ensure he was dead.

The victims took the injured man to hospital for treatment.
