Alex children receive milk donation

ALEXANDRA – Underpriviledged Alex children receive milk on World Milk Day.

Underprivileged children in Alex and elsewhere in the country received a milk donation from non-profit organisation FeedSA and company TetraPak through the Milk for Change campaign.

Started as a pilot project in commemoration of World Milk Day on 1 June, the campaign is to highlight the nutritional value of milk in tackling undernourishment which is rife in many communities. The two organisations have decided to hold the campaign annually after the encouraging initial donation of 60 000l of long life milk from Pick n Pay retail shops in Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. The milk was delivered to several children’s centres including Phutaditjaba Community Development Centre, Alex.
