Gauteng marks Youth Month with an expo

ALEXANDRA – Province celebrates youth month with career, jobs and business expo.

 

Gauteng provincial government will commemorate June as Youth Month through various activities including its third Career, Jobs and Entrepreneurship Expo at Nasrec.

The expo will run from 9 to 18 June with the theme, A Season of Hope for Gauteng Youth, and will include:

  • Public speaking contests for primary schools on the topic of social cohesion and the contributions to the country by former ANC President Oliver Tambo
  • Intergenerational dialogue on 16 June
  • Dialogue on protected areas like the nature parks
  • A graduation ceremony for 194 K53 driver instructors.

The graduation will be addressed by Ismael Vadi, MEC for Roads and Transport as part of the school learner driver support project started in 2015 for Grade 11’s. Since the start of the project, about 20 000 are said to have successfully written the test and obtained their learner’s licences.
