Taxi industry end the year with fun

ALEXANDRA - Employees of the Alexandra Taxi Association were treated to an end-year function after a hectic year in the taxi industry.

The Alexandra Taxi Association (Ata) held a year-end party for its employees at the Central Johannesburg College’s Alex campus on 7 December.

This was Ata’s way of thanking the entire staff for all their hard work throughout the year.

Public relations officer for the association, Jabulani Ntshangase said it is necessary for them to host these events so that employees feel appreciated for all the work they do.

“Everyone works really hard and gives all their energy [to make] this organisation successful, so we wanted to show them that all their hard work was appreciated,” Ntshangase said.

He said this year was a difficult year for them, but the peace accord between them and the Alexandra Randburg Midrand Sandton Taxi Association (Armsta) made things easier.

“The peace accord has contributed greatly to things becoming easier and making this event a success.”
