Spanners put in the works for aspirant pilot
ALEXANDRA – Father's hope for best to his daughter, undermined.

A father’s persistent support and wish for the best for his daughter is being undermined by problems he thought were resolved.
“It’s stressing me,” Aseuvao Nemarogolo of Organic Market settlement, Kew said about his 15-year-old daughter who was in the centre of a row between him and the mother who lives in Orange Farm. The incident featured in Alex News several times in 2018 had a celebrated ending with him hosting a party for the girl and her friends, and witnessed by neighbours and other interested parties.
The row drew in social workers who represented the child’s interest in court where Nemarogolo who sees to all of the child’s needs, was granted custody. This after facts proved the mother had abandoned the child when still a baby and told Nemarogolo to do whatever he wanted. He nurtured and put her in school until shenanigans involving the mother, who didn’t dispute them, and an organisation almost derailed the child. “They banded together to get her to attend dubious dance programmes that kept her away from me resulting in her disappearing and missing school for weeks at the age of 14.”The saga ended after social workers and the police traced the child to the mother and got her back to school at Pholosho Junior Secondary School.”

Nemarogolo then registered her for boarding last year but this was seemingly derailed and she ended up at an inner-city institution where luckily she passed. Despite his custody rights and acquiring accommodation for her near his single room, the child, however, ended up with the mother for the entire year to his disdain. Matters also came to a head during the festive holidays when he claimed an attempt to send the daughter to his rural home in Venda failed and also, he was denied the daughter’s company for a New Year’s celebration.
He has now paid transfer and registration fees for the child at another school away from the inner city one, in part, to stabilise her education. “This is after attempts at boarding school failed. I will not lose hope despite the stress.” He alleged that one of the child’s step-brothers came to intimidate and insult him presumably to thwart any attempt at getting the matter back to court. “I will approach social workers again for the help and if need be, the court will have to restore my custodianship.”

The daughter who was visiting him confessed her love for both parents. “I want him to be there for me during varsity studies and when I become a pilot,” the 15-year-old said stressing that nothing will stop her progress from current Grade 9 to tertiary education. In tears, she urged the parents to resolve the matter amicably and avoid bringing in many people to avoid conflicts. This after the father declined to attend a meeting called by the mother’s family fearing for his security. Also, out of concern about the public glare on the matter. Attempts to reach the mother and messages left on her phone were in vain.
The daughter is this year entering the third school, in two years after nearby Pholosho Junior Secondary and the inner-city schools.
