Alexandra Police Station officers responded to a shoot-out in London Road and 3rd Avenue on 13 August at around 10.20pm.
Alexandra police spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said on arrival, the police found car-tracking personnel on the scene with an unknown suspect’s body in a pool of blood. Mbatha said police were informed by the car tracking personnel that they were chasing a Toyota Quantum that was hijacked in Winterveld, Tshwane up until London Road, Alexandra.
“It’s further alleged that when they got to London Road, the occupants of the Quantum started shooting at the car-tracking personnel and they returned fire,” he explained. “The two suspects from the Quantum disappeared into the shacks while the third one was short on the right leg.”
