Learners from various schools in Alexandra township have blockaded Alexandra Police Station on 8 September, with burning tyres.
The learners are demanding justice for 18-year-old Jabulile Nkosi who was a learner at Eastbank High School. She was murdered on 6 September at around 2am in East Bank towards Vasco next to Lion Crescent.
Alexandra Police Station officers were stopped by a group of people on the street when they pointed out the deceased. “The deceased was lying lifelessly on the side of the street in a pool of blood. We noticed a gunshot wound on the head,” said Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha.
“The deceased was certified dead by paramedics.”

The learners are currently at the station to hand over their memorandum of demands. Alexandra police spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the learners who are currently mobilising other local schools to join their protest said they want to see the perpetrators behind bars.
