Police investigate murder in Alexandra
ALEXANDRA – The 18-year-old victim was taken to a nearby clinic for medical attention but died on arrival.
Police officers are investigating the murder of an 18-year-old in Alexandra.
According to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, it was reported that the victim was stabbed with a knife on 6 September on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street after an argument ensued with one of his friends at a nearby hair salon. The owner of the hair salon is said to have intervened in the argument and chased the victim away.
Mbatha added, “The [victim] left and went to his place not far from the hair salon. On his way home, he had an altercation with a known male who stabbed him on his right hand with a knife. A passerby intervened when he saw this but he was also stabbed on his right hip,” explained Mbatha.
The 18-year-old victim was taken to a nearby clinic for medical attention, unfortunately, he died on arrival.
Mbatha added that no one has been arrested but an investigation is under way.
