Man found killed with his ear cut off in Phase 2 Alexandra

PHASE 2 – According to Alex police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, when they arrived the next day, 17 November, they were met with a scene of a man that may have died hours before the discovery.

Police detectives are investigating a murder case that took place during the late hours of Monday evening, 16 November in Alexandra Phase 2 where a 32-year-old man from the area was found dead.

According to Alex police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, when they arrived the next day, 17 November, they were met with the scene of the dead man who may have died hours before the discovery.

“No one knows what happened exactly, but it seems he was strangled from somewhere and was dumped next to where he stays, it happened at night the previous day. His ear was visibly cut [off],” said Mbatha.

Mbatha said an investigation was ongoing and more details would be shared.
