Suspect killed after accomplices drive off with stolen items
ALEX – One of the suspects was shot and killed by the security guards after he failed to get inside the car when his accomplices sped off.

Police detectives are investigating a business break-in and theft that occurred on 11 February in Alexandra.
Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said, “At about 6am, security guards were patrolling at a local mall when they noticed a white Hyundai parked on London Road with the suspects loading items from a shop.”
He added that three of the four suspects were able to drive off when they saw the security guards, leaving one of the suspects behind. The security guards chased the suspect and fatally shot him in the back.

Mbatha said the stolen items included a black Lenovo desktop, a black HP desktop, a cash drawer and cash amounting to R500. They also damaged the door of the shop which has a value of R26 900.
All relevant authorities were present at the scene and an investigation was underway.
