Clothing store robbed in Alexandra
ALEX – Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha added that the first suspect grabbed the complainant and pushed her towards the office. The complainant was also ordered to put all the cellphones inside the suspect's bag.
Police detectives are investigating a business robbery that took place on 2 February on the corner of Second Street and Watt Road in Alexandra.
Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the 33-year-old female complainant claimed that she was at work when she noticed that the security guard was not at the main entrance when a man entered the store carrying a plastic bag.

“The complainant then told the man to use the sanitiser. This is when she saw another man jumping over the counter. She then told him that no one is allowed over the counter. He then lifted up his shirt and showed her a firearm,” said Mbatha.
Mbatha added that the first suspect grabbed the complainant and pushed her towards the office. The complainant was also ordered to put all the cell phones inside the suspect’s bag.

“The victim said she was robbed by more than four to five suspects wearing masks. The total value of [stolen] cell phones amounts to R11 600.”
Fingerprints were taken when police arrived at the scene. An investigation is underway.
