Alex church teaches kids to love God from a tender age
ALEXANDRA – The conference was in direct response to the growing number of young people in the township that are falling through the cracks, says Pastor Twala.
Pastor Sifiso Twala of the Kingdom Mandate Ministries International in Alexandra hosted the first of an annual Kingdom Seedz Kids conference for children between the ages of three and 12 years.
The conference was meant to reach out to the children and positively influence them with the gospel of Jesus Christ through fun teaching, games, and many other activities despite coming from different backgrounds.
The conference is a project of the church through its registered non-profit organisation called Place of Help Community Development Centre, which focuses on reaching out and extending the love of God to its community.
Mthokozisi Thwala, a Sunday school teacher at the church, said children should be taught the importance of God while they are still young. “We want kids to understand that living their life without inviting God into it will only lead them to making wrong decisions about their life.
“Kids enjoy playing and the only way to make sure that they learn something today is if we make the lessons about God interesting, allow them to enjoy themselves with different types of games while teaching them about God.”

The conference took place on 1 May at No.43, 3rd Avenue in Alexandra and it covered subjects such as protecting your future, bullying in school, and the importance of physical exercises.
Pastor Twala said the Kigdom Seedz Kids conference was in direct response to the growing number of young people in the township that are falling through the cracks at school or are already entangled in drugs, alcohol and crime due to loss of faith in the prospects of a better future.
He said the reason they are doing this is that they see those kids’ cute smiles, joyful young souls, and touched hearts, so they believe that the effects of one event can shape a life forever.
