Woman allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend
ALEX – The suspect was assaulted by community members and taken to a nearby hospital.
Police detectives are investigating a murder that took place in Alexandra on September 18.
According to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the woman was stabbed in the left side of her chest. Mbatha said, ‘It is alleged that the deceased was sitting with her boyfriend who is the suspect outside J&L sorghum beer shebeen at 2nd Avenue Roosevelt drinking sorghum beer and as usual they had an argument.
“Suddenly the deceased told her friend that her boyfriend had stabbed her and then the deceased fell down and died right in front of her. The suspect then dragged the deceased from the steps where she fell down to where they were seated and the community members started to assault the suspect and he sustained injuries on his head and face. He was rescued by the arrival of the police.”
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.
In another incident, a body of a man was found lying face down.
Mbatha said the body had a bullet wound. The deceased was wearing khaki shorts and a blue tracksuit top.
The suspect is unknown and no arrests have been made.
