Nkele Galedzana vows to soldier on as an Alex independent

ALEXANDRA – Galedzana says Ward 75 will never be the same again and it will never be easy for the reigning councillor as was the case previously.

Ward 75 independent candidate Nkele Galedzana has vowed to soldier on despite her loss in the polls to incumbent ANC councillor Sannie Mavhona.

“The war may have been won by the ANC but the fight is not over. I will continue my work in the ward with the residents outside any political party as nothing was lost but much was gained from the exercise, which was a first for the township as a whole.

“The community was educated and the youth was inspired and so many people came to me and urged me on, saying they will work closely with me for future local government elections, whose work begins now,” Galedzana told Alex News after the results were confirmed.

She categorically dismissed a potential return to the ANC. “I am not going back there whatsoever. There is so much that can be done as an independent candidate in your community as you are not bound by any red tape.”

She warned political parties to ensure they delivered on their promises or she would tackle them head on to ensure they delivered what they promised the residents of the ward.
