MarawaTV joins forces with sports betting company

JOBURG – As Hollywood bets and MarawaTV, we want to console him for his predicament with this ‘smallanyana’ [small] gesture to urge him on, says Marawa.

South Africa’s iconic sports broadcaster Robert Marawa has partnered with sports betting operator Hollywoodbets as one of its brand ambassadors.

Marawa’s role, announced at an event at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, will be to focus on the goal of building bridges between the sports betting company and football fans across the continent of Africa and the world at large.

Marawa owns MarawaTV that streams its sports products to the African continent and the world, and sports betting fans will now have the opportunity to listen to Marawa’s words of wisdom before settling on that bet.

The iconic sports broadcaster will also be involved in various CSI projects of Hollywoodbets involving the development of grassroots football and giving back to various communities in the country that are currently facing tough times due to Covid-19.

“Marawa will add value with his experience, knowledge and opinion through the creation of bespoke content for the purple brand’s audience. With these two brands’ [Hollywoodbets and MarawaTV] shared passion for sport, we will be collaborating on several initiatives to promote South Africa’s sporting talent and also venture into expanding the collaboration into other African countries,” said Hollywoodbets commercial manager Sandisiwe Bhengu.

Marawa’s first CSI assignment was to hand over a cheque of R100 000 to Chippa United player Rodney ‘Rama-G’ Ramagalela.

The soccer player has had the misfortune of losing a number of people that were close to him and more recently his house burnt to the ground due to a mystery fire.

“Age is no longer on the side of Rama-G but he still plays because the heart still urges him on but time to retire may soon catch up with him before he even rebuilds his house from scratch once again.

“As Hollywoodbets and MarawaTV, we want to console him for his predicament with this smallanyana [small] gesture to urge him on. We all want to see him retire and retire to a dignified home filled with warmth,” Marawa said at the handover.
