Suspects take money that was hidden under a fridge during robbery
ALEX – According to Alexandra Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the value of the things taken is at R25 000.
Police detectives are investigating a business robbery case wherein five men made off with cash, three cellphones, an airtime machine and cigarettes, on December 8.
According to Alexandra Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the value of the things taken is R25 000.
The incident took place during the early hours of the morning at around 01:00.
Mbatha said that the complainant alleged that he was asleep with his two brothers at the supermarket, which is combined with a backroom when someone forcefully entered through the back wall using an unknown instrument.
“Five unknown men entered. Three of them were armed with firearms. They then proceeded to demand cash and forced the victims to open the door to the supermarket while assaulting them. One of the victims then pointed to where the money was. They took the money which some was hidden under a fridge.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
