#OperationDudula sees foreign nationals at loggerheads with South Africans in Alex
A number of businesses have been forced to shut their doors as Operation Dudula gains momentum.
The #OperationDudula movement has taken Alexandra by storm.
Foreign nationals took to the streets of Alexandra on Monday, March 7 protesting at what they deem is unconstitutional infringement of their rights.
An unconfirmed number of people have been injured since the unrest started, and the operation continues to gain momentum. The movement aims to remove all the foreign nationals who are without the necessary papers and work permits, and prevent them from owning businesses and working in South Africa.
In videos shared on social media, some businesses were forced to close down yesterday, March 7. This continued today.

I'm shocked by three number of SAns calling #OperationDudula a bunch of thugs. I fail to understand the level of ignorance. Firstly it is a crime to enter a country without the necessary documents. This is not even supposed to be a negotiation. pic.twitter.com/KOn5zTT4Yq

One man was taken into custody by the police. The man has been walking around with a play card that read: "STOP EMPLOYING FOREIGNERS. ALEX FIRST". It's unclear at this stage what offense he committed.#OperationDudula #Foreigners #Xenophobia pic.twitter.com/usZkhylqle

Foreigners are ready to fight SAns #OperationDudula in their own country because we have a useless Government that fails to protect RSA citizens fearing they will be called xenophobic.
We are led by sellouts

As the unrest continues, the leaders of the movement are certain that this unrest will end with the foreign nationals deported.
