Communities urged to be more prudent when spending

ALEXANDRA -– Challenges that most people face could be avoided if they had the right information on hand, says Ntuli.

Communities struggling with financial matters need to exercise more prudent spending measures to be able to maintain sound financial well-being.

This was the message that financial services company Metropolitan brought to the community of Alexandra at their recent launch of the #WeStart2022Stronger campaign themed Knowledge is Power

Metropolitan’s chief marketing officer Tlalane Ntuli said the theme was particularly true when it came to matters of financial well-being.

“A lot of challenges and pain points [specific problems faced by current or prospective customers in the marketplace] that most people face could be avoided if they had the right information on hand. Let’s face it, money matters can feel scary and complicated but the truth is that it doesn’t have to be.

“As we have just wound down the first month of 2022, Metropolitan saw it befitting to launch the #WeStart2022Stronger campaign which aims at equipping consumers with knowledge and tools to better manage their financial matters and reduce the anxiety associated with money so that they can level up their financial game and start the year stronger,” Ntuli said.

The campaign also debuted on Metropolitan’s website and social media platforms on January 27 which aims to place the power in the hands of consumers as information is shared on three specific topics:

  • Premium deductions and debit orders
  • The claims process, and
  • Sum assured amounts.

“There is no shame in admitting that you don’t know enough about finances or admitting you have misunderstood finances in the past. “We want to show that it can be fixed. Knowing how to manage your money better will translate to a more confident mindset where you worry less and make better choices – as the saying goes when we know better, we do better.”
