A group of men rob garages.
Garages in Alex continue to get mugged as the police are still looking for a group of suspects.
A group of six men armed with rifles threatened the employees at the Shell garage in 3rd Avenue, Wynberg on April 12 around 23:30. They blew the garage’s safe, took all the money from the safe, and fled.
Alexandra Police Station Commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela said, “The damage caused by the explosives was extensive and a case of business robbery was opened.”
Magudulela said that the following night on April 13 at around 22:00, Caltex garage staff was also attacked by a group of men armed with rifles, and money was taken, but there were no explosives in this case.
“It is alleged that the suspects who robbed the Shell garage are the same suspects that robbed the Caltex garage. No arrests have been made so far on both incidents.”
