A truck that delivers bread got robbed in Alex.
Suspects hijack a bakery truck with stock inside worth R23 000.
The driver of a bakery truck that delivers bread to local supermarkets was robbed at gunpoint in Alexandra on August 19.
Alexandra SAPS Station Commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela said, “The complainant alleged he was on duty delivering bread at 19th Avenue in Alexandra. He came back to the truck with the money he had collected.
While he was in the truck he heard a gunshot, two men approached him and ordered him to get out of the truck. He was then searched, and
R14 000 cash was taken.”
“The victim alleged that he was then ordered into the back of the truck with his colleague. While the truck was in motion the door opened – the bread fell out and they jumped out. The lost bread stock was worth R23 000.
The suspects took the bakery truck and the R14 000 cash.”
Magudulela said the truck was later recovered between 10th Avenue and Rooth Street.
