Drakensberg Boys Choir sings for hope in aid of Alex children

The famed Drakensberg Boys Choir will perform live in aid of a good cause for the children of Alexandra at the Rosebank Union Church on the Noël Tour 2023 in Johannesburg on November 28 at 18:30.

Rays of Hope has announced that South Africa’s famed Drakensberg Boys Choir will be stopping at the Rosebank Union Church on the Noël Tour 2023 in Johannesburg, on November 28 at 18:30, and has invited one and all to attend this spectacular evening of musical delight for a good cause.

The youth choral group, known for moving crowds around the world with their angelic voices, will perform live, in aid of the ‘Sponsor a Child’ initiative by Alexandra-based NGO, Rays of Hope.
The initiative aims to bring hope to children living in Alex through monthly sponsorships that see to their educational, social, psychological, emotional, and living needs.

“Sponsor a Child is a vital programme in support of the Alexandra community, where we encourage businesses, individuals, and organisations to pledge their support for a child in Alex with a monthly donation.

“It costs just R1,000 to cover the educational and psychosocial needs of each child per month and any donation towards this amount would be welcome. This sponsorship isn’t a mere donation, but an investment in a child’s future, ensuring they are well-fed, educated and nurtured now so that they can enjoy successful, prosperous lives in the future,” said Bertha Muchadeyi, psychosocial support leader at Rays of Hope.

Some of the beneficiaries of the Sponsor a Child initiative will also be present at the event to afford them an opportunity to be inspired by the boys on stage and show them that anything is possible with the right support and attitude.

“It is an honour and a privilege to host the renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir and a blessing that their efforts will benefit the children of Alex who deserve a chance at a better life, now and in the future,” Muchadeyi added.
