The Alexandra Early Childhood Development (ECD) Combined Forum hosted the event in collaboration with Gomora Carnival, Sports and Recreation, and the City of Johannesburg at Altrek Sports Complex on August 2.

The forum’s chairperson Ntsoake Tshoagong said this initiative aimed to provide a day filled with enjoyment and learning for the young ones in the community, showcasing a spirit of unity and commitment to youth development.

“We couldn’t celebrate the children’s day during the children’s month because of the cold; we then decided to do it in August.

“We wanted to create a safe and fun environment for the children of Alexandra, and for the young ones to enjoy and play with other children from other early childhood centres. But this event is not just about having fun, it’s also an opportunity for our community to come together, strengthen bonds, and support the growth and development of our youth,” Tshoagong said.
