Dada Morero elected as the new Executive Mayor of the City
Dada Morero from the African National Congress (ANC) is returning to serve as the Executive Mayor of the City of Joburg once more.
Dada Morero has been elected as the new executive mayor for the City of Johannesburg at the 30th extraordinary meeting on August 16.
This follows Al Jama-ah‘s Kabelo Gwamanda’s resignation on August 13.

Morero was elected and sworn in at the Constance Bapela Council Chamber, Metropolitan Centre in Braamfontein.
Morero is the City’s Finance MMC and is also Joburg ANC regional chairperson. In 2022 he was elected as mayor but only served 25 days before he was removed.
