“Alexandra is not just a place, it’s a legacy of perseverance. And as an entrepreneur, a single mother of four, and a woman determined to make an impact, my mission is to ensure that this legacy continues, one opportunity at a time,” Mabaso said.
“Both organisations share the same core mission – creating sustainable opportunities for women, youth, and underserved communities. Whether it’s through education, business development, or job creation, I am committed to building brands that make a lasting impact.”

Mabaso matriculated from Wendywood High School in 2008 but had to postpone her LLB in Criminal Law studies at university because of her dad suffering a stroke in 2006 which brought financial setbacks.
In 2009, to put bread on the table, Mabaso had to find employment and in 2015 she enrolled to become a paralegal but could not complete her studies due to financial constraints.
She has since held roles in finance, human resources, procurement, insurance and customer service which she said empowered her with a deeper understanding of how business works.

Mbali Mabaso is one of the powerful emergent voices of Alexandra township.

“I’m a mom first, so spending time with my children is my favourite thing to do. I cherish every moment with them. We love travelling together. They bring so much joy and adventure into my life.”
