A man has been fatally shot in Alexandra in the early hours of Monday morning. According to reports, the deceased and his friend were attacked by gunmen while driving along Joe Nhlanhla Street.

Although police did not release the victim’s name, multiple community sources have identified the deceased as activist and businessman Vincent Ndima.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed that two victims were involved. “A 49-year-old man was found deceased in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, and a passenger sustained serious injuries, currently receiving medical treatment.”

Police have opened cases of murder and attempted murder. The motive remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
