Sassa unveils November 2025 grant payment dates, calls for updated details

With millions depending on social grants, Sassa confirms November payment dates and urges beneficiaries to update personal information for seamless access to funds.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the November 2025 social grant payment dates, with payouts starting this week for over 19 million beneficiaries.

Sassa is urging recipients to check and update personal and banking details immediately to ensure smooth access ahead of the busy holiday period.

Older persons grants will be paid on November 4, followed by disability grants on November 5. All children’s grants, including child support, foster child, and care dependency, together with other grants, will be disbursed on November 6.

Money will be deposited directly into bank accounts on these dates or can be collected in cash at Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Boxer, and official Sassa pay points. The R370 social relief of distress (SRD) grant is paid separately, normally between November 25 and 30. Sassa maintains that funds stay in accounts until withdrawn, so there is no rush to collect on the day.

Current grant amounts, following the October increase announced in the 2025 Budget Speech, are older persons grant R2 315 (ages 60-74) or R2 335 (75 and older), disability and care dependency grants R2 315 each. Child support grant is R560 per child, foster child grant is R1 250 per child, and the grant-in-aid is R560.

Direct bank deposit remains the safest and fastest option. Cash withdrawals are available at retail outlets using a Sassa card or at pay points and post offices, where queues are expected. Sassa warns beneficiaries never to share PINs or card details. For help, call the toll-free line 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest Sassa office.
