Van der Walt added that they were this time focussing on the boys as they always have the girls in the annual event of The Sports Trust Challenge before the end of the main event of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The Sports Trust head of department for projects and stakeholder relations Smanga Matholeni said the affinity funding had more than R1 million which was partly being used for the development of golfing stars under the South African Development Golf Association.
