Lebo Maphetho, the goalkeeper of Realogile High School’s football team, produced a brilliant performance against Highlands North Boys as he saved three penalties to help his school advance to the semifinals of The Sibusiso ‘Cosmos’ Zwane Schools Tournament.
Highlands squandered a two-goal lead as they allowed Realogile back in the game after their great start. Lesego Leeto drew first blood for Highlands when he unleashed a thunderous shot outside the box in the seventh minute.

The sustained pressure paid off for Highlands as Lesedi Sefako doubled their lead with a brilliant finish towards the half hour mark. The game went into the break with Highlands leading by two goals.
Realogile showed more intent and better technical awareness from the break. Picked out by Morafe Ramthape’s cross, striker Tebogo Ralebona chested the ball up and flicked it over a defender before tip-toeing into the box and arrowing a right-foot strike into the bottom corner of the nets.
Realogile poured forward in search of an equaliser and their efforts were rewarded when Highlands conceded a penalty in the dying minutes of the game, and Sakhumzi Mkhumzo made no mistake as Realogile staged a great come-back.
The game ended in a two-all draw with the semifinal spot up for grabs. However, there had to be a winner and the game went into penalties to decide which school goes through.
