Photographer finds his way into music and acting industry

ALEXANDRA – Tshililo recently joined the acting industry and has been featured in a drama series called Umbuzo kaThemba.


The local music artist, actor and photographer Pfunzo ‘Master P’ Tshililo who grew up in the dusty streets of Alexandra said he was delighted by the warm reception of his work by locals and the entire nation.

Tshililo, a well-known photographer in the township, released his first single late last year and the music video has received more than 60 000 views on YouTube.

“I am in the music for less than a year but the reception I’ve received from music lovers and people in the industry is amazing. I released my first single Gigabyte last year and the way it was received by the public surprised me. It is currently sitting above 60 000 views on YouTube and has got thousands of downloads from digital music platforms.”

Tshililo also recently joined the acting industry and has been featured in a drama series called Umbuzo kaThemba. He said he was inspired by his friend to start acting. “I use to do photographing work for my friend who is in the acting industry and he inspired me to join the industry. I am currently taking acting classes with Alexandra Arts Academy (AAA) – a local creative organisation that helps local people in the art industry grow. Art flows in my blood veins and I am determined that this is what I was born to do.”

Master P will release an EP (extended play) later this year which will feature with tracks like Heineken. “I very optimistic that my next EP will do better than Gigabyte and I hope that this game-changing project will bring revolution into the music industry and receive a positive reception from the public and music lovers.”
