A residential burglary turned into a robbery when a home owner (67) walked in on burglars at his house in Sector 2 in Edenvale this afternoon.

Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, said the elderly man was tied up by the three intruders when he arrived home.

“It is believed that the suspects were all armed,” said Capt Olckers.

He said the suspects fled in the home owner’s Ford Ranger.

“The elderly man was taken to hospital in a stable condition for treatment,” said Capt Olckers.
