Buckle up! QASA does not want new members
The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) urged motorists to wear their seatbelts as the holiday season came to an end.

QASA deployed quadriplegics and paraplegics at four garages on national roads encouraging motorists to buckle up to reduce the number of spinal cord injuries from road accidents on South African roads.
The We Don’t Want New Members campaign was launched on July 13 and 14.
20 quadriplegics and paraplegics from QASA greeted road-users on their return from holiday travels with a strong message to use their seatbelts.
Motorists were also asked to sign a pledge to buckle up.
QASA believes that motorists who wear seatbelts and are involved in an accident, have a reduced chance of sustaining a spinal cord injury.
More than 900 people sustain spinal cord injuries in South Africa every year.
Half of these are from road accidents.
The campaign was supported by the Road Accident Fund, AVIS and the Cannonball Run event.
