Raising funds for Cansa
Bedfordview’s events co-ordinating company, Event Licious, held a fundraising event for Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) on Saturday last week.
The expo took place at Gem Venue. Events organising companies and designers set up their tables, displaying what they do best.
Mrs Monique Fourie from Event Licious, said that all the proceeds and entrance fees went to Cansa.
“Cancer is affecting many people in our country. Most of those who do not have it, know someone who is suffering from it. Cansa and charities that cater for children are at the top of my list of charities to help,” she said.
She called on those who can to help charities.
Grant “Fireball” Fourie, South African lightweight division boxer, urged other sports people to join the fight against cancer.
“People look up to us. Let’s help those who are fighting this illness. Let’s help them with anything that we can,” Fireball said.
On the day, wedding and matric dance dresses were on show. There was also a big wedding cake made by La Meli Cup-Cakery.
