Toastmasters receive president’s status
The Village Toastmasters Club meeting for June marked a watershed.
A new committee was inducted for the start of a new Toastmaster’s year and the announcement was made that Village Toastmasters Club had achieved President’s Distinguished Club status.
Mr Jonathan Silverberg, who played a vital role in the club’s achievements, was inducted as the new club president.
Toastmasters Clubs provide a supportive environment and structured programmes designed to enhance the communication, speaking and leadership skills of its members.
Toastmasters International through its Distinguished Club Programme tracks the success of each of its clubs worldwide.
Village Toastmasters Club was rated by Toastmasters International as a highly successful category one club.
Amongst the achievements recognised and rewarded at the June 2013 meeting were those of Ms Karen Armour who received the award for the best prepared speech of the evening.
At the same time she completed her 10th project in the Competent Communicator Manual. Ms Viviane Rozanski took the award for the best evaluator of the evening.
Village Toastmasters Club meets on the third Tuesday evening of the month, at 7.30pm, in the large hall of the Trinity Presbyterian Church situated in St David Road, Elma Park.
