Members of the SAPS arrived on scene to disperse picketing workers.
Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts said picketing workers were co-operated with police requests.
“Workers barricaded the entrance to a business park which is against the picketing rules and regulations. The workers were told to move away from the gates which they did,” he said.
Lt Col Roberts confirmed that members of the SAPS advised the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Depart
ment (EMPD) bylaw unit of refuse which was strewn across Muniach Road.
“It is against the EMPD bylaws to litter and is up to EMPD to issue fines to the union for allowing its members to litter,” Lt Col Roberts said.
