Construction workers injured
Two construction workers were injured with glass at a premises in East Street, in Observatory on Wednesday.

A security supervisor said he saw a domestic worker come running up the street screaming out that there was a robbery. The supervisor responded. He found two men lying on the pavement and saw other workers running around and screaming in confusion.
He found out that it was not a robbery but instead, the men were injured while trying to move pallets of glass from a truck. He said the accident occurred as a result of unbalanced offloading of multiple glass panels that were stacked on both sides of a container. The unbalanced side of the container tilted and dislodged the crate crashing onto the workers and injuring them.
The supervisor checked the injured workers and applied first aid treatment.
Another man tried to assist one of the injured workers by trying to stop the bleeding. The supervisor said that one of the workers sustained several lacerations on his body.
The other worker sustained injuries to his leg.
Paramedics were called.
Mrs Santi Steinmann, media liaison officer for Netcare Limited, said the men were treated at the scene and then taken to hospital for further treatment.
The guard thanked Netcare for their reaction time and the professional manner in which they handled the situation.
