Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts said detectives had taken a witness statement from the man which was included in the docket before it was submitted to court.

“We are waiting for a reply from the state prosecutor on whether the case can go ahead in court,” Lt Col Roberts said.

He added that further details could not be made available at this stage.

“This has become a serious matter. One only needs to read the comments on the story to understand that if any particular details are released there could be serious consequences,” Lt Col Roberts said.

“Both parties in this case need to be protected for obvious reasons,” he said.

The biker will face charges of child endangerment and reckless and negligent driving among others added to the docket last week.
