The annual Eastgate Look of Fashion (LOF) event will take place at the Eastgate Shopping Centre on October 18.
The event that stages the latest in style and beauty trends at Eastgate Shopping Centre, is a renowned launch-pad for aspiring models as well as the longest running and most influential modelling competition to take place at any shopping centre in South Africa.
The Eastgate Look of Fashion (LOF) event is an annual showcase for South Africa’s best entertainers, mixing fashion and music seamlessly. Last year’s performers included Locnville, Chiano Sky and Benedikt Sebastian. The competition is recognised as a prestigious platform for local talent and aspirant models to launch their careers. Two previous winners, Tansey Coetzee and Bokang Montjane, went on to be crowned Miss South Africa after winning the Eastgate Look of Fashion title. Celebrities who have entered in previous years include Claudia Henkel, Shashi Naidoo, Rosette Mogomotsi and previous runner-up, Celeste Khumalo, who was crowned Miss SA Teen in 2011.
Entries are open to contestants who are 17-years-old, but not older than 25 in 2014.
Thirty semi-finalists were invited to a screening process, where 16 finalists were selected. The selected finalists include Toka Lintsa, Brittany Ward, Amy Samuels, Jordan Airey, Chloe Coston, Demi Tromp, Jessica Tovey, Marilet Branders, Reabetswe Sechoara, Michelle Howell, Angelique van Dyk, Carrie-Leigh Miranda, Courtney Renniers, Carrie Mae Marder, Patience Tenyane and Kirsten Carls. Judges include Sir Franco D’Arrigo (D’Arrigo International), Jacinda Louw-Schutte (television presenter and Survivor SA 2006 runner-up), Dunay Nortjie-Darren (model and wife of Kurt Darren), Andre Arendse (South African footballer and Safe Hands Soccer coach), Sir Massimo Civale (Italian Film Director), Melinda Bam (Miss SA 2011), Annie Malan (SA television actress), Princess Letizia (Spain), Hester Wasserfall (Eastgate Shopping Centre Manager), Mastura Ahmed (Liberty Properties) and Nashil Chotoki (Liberty Properties).
This year there will be guest appearances from Bokang Montjane (Miss SA 2010 and Eastgate LOF 2009 winner), Marilyn Ramos (Miss SA 2012 and Eastgate LOF 2010 female category winner), and Celeste Khumalo (Miss SA Teen 2011 and Eastgate LOF princess 2011).
The winner of the 2013 Eastgate Look of Fashion will win prizes to the value of over R60 000, which includes a trip to Las Vegas in July 2014 to compete in the prestigious Italian Ragazza Cinema OK International beauty Pageant competition. Other prizes worth R250 000 include Stuttafords gift vouchers to the value of R45 000 (divided among the winner and all finalists), Arthur Kaplan Jewellers, an F Wilson Fashion Designer Dress worth R15 000, a Bulova Watch, a weekend at the Palace of the Lost City at Sun City, a weekend at the Emerald Resort and Casino, Rajoc Hair hampers, Polo, Sissy Boy and Kiss & Kill Designer Eyewear, Guess handbags, Cellini luggage, Veaudry Hairstyles and Pilanesberg game drives and outdoor adventure vouchers.
