These were the central and uplifting themes of a talk by Bedfordview resident Elizabeth Sideropoulos, a distinguished past pupil of Saheti School, who matriculated in 1985.
Elizabeth holds a Masters degree in International Relations (Cum Laude) from Wits University. As CEO of the South African Institute of International Affairs, she is a high-profile professional both in South Africa and abroad, and at the same time remains an active supporter of Saheti School. She has served on the Saheti Board since 1995, and is currently an executive member and Vice-Chair (Greek).
Elizabeth recounted scenes from a recent school production to illustrate her points, and engaged the pupils with additional messages, drawn from her personal experiences, with regards to value and nurturing friendships. She told pupils this can contribute to self-confidence. Elizabeth encouraged pupils to work hard in every endeavour and to use every opportunity to read and travel as a way of broadening their minds.
