College rocks with battle of the bands event
The event was the end of year celebration for the college’s sound engineering, public relations and photography students.
Students from Oakfields College, in Greenstone, put their skills and talent to work to organise the 2013 Battle of the Bands.
The event took place at Stones, in Bedfordview on Thursday, October 17.
The event was the end of year celebration for the college’s sound engineering, public relations and photography students.
Headlining the evening was the band, The December Streets.
The students were judged and marked on their practical performances. The sound engineering students provided the sound for the event, the PR students put the whole event together and the photography students captured the entire event on camera.
Four bands were involved in the 2013 Battle of the Bands event, with The Smoochies emerging as the winners of the competition. They secured a three-year recording contract with Rhapsody Entertainment.
