The Cleveland SAPS is still looking for the robbers who ransacked a house in Oxford Road, Kensington, on September 8.
Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said a woman was at home with her children when three men entered the house. The men, in possession of firearms, demanded money and jewellery. They ransacked the house and took cellular phones, jewellery and demanded keys to the safe.
“The woman tried to fight them off and they fled the scene with a silver Audi that was parked outside. The woman’s son gave chase with his car and alerted the police,” said Const Mashakane.
The suspects, who were then involved an accident, exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
“Police officers found passports, jewellery and cellular phones in the vehicle. However, the suspects still managed to flee with some of the possessions,” said Const Mashakane.
