Claims that Bedfordview resident and Czech businessman, Mr Radovan Krejcir, was assaulted after his arrest have surfaced.

According to reports, Mr Krejcir was allegedly assaulted and suffocated by police officers during his detention.

It is believed that a case of assault and attempted murder has been lodged against the police officers involved.

Mr Krejcir was arrested on Friday night at his home in Kloof Road.

At around midnight BDK Attorneys filed an urgent court application to force the SAPS to disclose the whereabouts of their client.

On Saturday Mr Krejcir consulted his attorney’s for the first time.

Mr Krejcir is expected to appear in court tomorrow on charges of attempted murder and kidnapping.

His whereabouts are currently unknown and reports suggest this is for safety reasons.
